About this training

NRA Refuse To Be A Victim® – In‑Depth Course Description

The NRA Refuse To Be A Victim® program is a nationally recognized personal safety and crime‑prevention seminar designed to teach individuals how to develop proactive strategies for avoiding criminal confrontation. Unlike firearms courses, this seminar focuses entirely on awareness, preparedness, and prevention, giving students the knowledge and confidence to reduce their risk of becoming a victim at home, at work, in public, and online.

Students learn how criminals select their targets, how to identify vulnerabilities in their daily routines, and how to implement practical security upgrades that significantly increase personal safety. The course covers a wide range of modern threats—including physical crime, social engineering, cyber intrusion, stalking, travel risks, and domestic security concerns—and provides clear, actionable steps to mitigate each one.

Through guided discussion, scenario-based examples, and structured safety‑planning exercises, participants build a personalized security plan tailored to their lifestyle, environment, and risk factors. The seminar emphasizes situational awareness, mental preparedness, and behavioral strategies that help individuals recognize danger early and make safer decisions under stress.

This course is appropriate for adults, families, community groups, and workplace teams. No prior training is required, and no firearms instruction or handling is included. Completion of the seminar equips students with a comprehensive understanding of personal safety principles and the confidence to take responsibility for their own security.
